Metra Rail Customer Segmentation Study

C R Market Surveys undertook a detailed customer segmentation study targeting both riders and non-riders of Metra Rail across its eight rail lines. The study employed a variety of research methods, including focus groups, online surveys, in-depth interviews, and telephone surveys, to capture a wide range of perspectives. 


Key responsibilities included: 

  1. Focus Group Research: We conducted focus groups with current and potential Metra riders. 

  2. Survey Administration: We administered online and telephone surveys to gather quantitative data. 

  3. In-Depth Interviews: Conducting in-depth interviews to gain deeper insights into customer behavior and preferences was another task we fulfilled.

  4. Report: The final deliverable was a comprehensive report detailing key customer segments.


Our efforts and report presented Metra with actionable insights for targeted marketing initiatives aimed at improving rider engagement and attracting new customers.
